I love quizzes that spark discussion and get you to thinking. I have a few regular blogs that I read, one of them being Girl on the Move; I recently read a post there entitled “Would You Rather: Travel Edition“. While reading it, thinking about what my answers would be, I thought “Hey, let’s do a Would You Rather: Bible Edition!” So, here goes…
Would you rather….
Have seen the Red Sea being parted, or Jesus walking on water?
I think it would be so awesome to see the Red Sea being parted, but nothing could ever compare to seeing Jesus in person.
Have your diet be manna and quail, or locusts and honey?
I love honey. I don’t eat meat. But, having eaten quail once in my life, and remembering it to have been very good, I would choose quail and manna. No way would I want to eat grasshoppers. I have always said that one of the first things I want to do when I get to Heaven is taste manna.
Be a prostitute but have helped the spies escape Jericho, or be a virgin that gives birth to Jesus and have your reputation ruined?
I would choose to be Rahab. As much of an honor as it would be to be chosen the mother of Jesus, I would never want to have to go through the pain that she went through watching her Son beaten and murdered. The prostitute who helped the spies escape is in the lineage of Jesus.
Spend one hour in Heaven, or one week with Jesus on earth?
One week with Jesus on earth, no doubt! One hour in Heaven would be amazing, but I’ll be spending eternity there. So, I would easily forgo the hour in Heaven to be able to spend a week with Jesus on earth. During that week, I would get preparation for the rest of my life here on earth. It would really stink to be in that glorious place for a week, and then have to come back to this place.
Deny Jesus three times, or betray Him for 30 pieces of silver?
Hmmmmm, definitely deny Jesus 3 times. To be honest, I’ve already done that. We deny Jesus so many times in our lives…. when we don’t do what he has asked us to do; when we are afraid to stand up for what is right; when we have a chance to share Him with others and we don’t; I could go on and on about that one. But I hope that I would never choose to betray Him for 30 pieces of silver.
Live on the ark with all the stinky animals, or be stuck in the belly of a large fish?
Inside the belly of a large fish….. ewwww no way! First of all, I’m claustrophobic; second, that’s so nasty; third, talk about lonely….. Of course, I’d be so sick of living on a boat surrounded by nothing but water for that long, but at least I’d have family to talk to, and when the family is on my nerves, I’d have the animals.
Have dinner with Moses, or Paul?
Definitely Paul! If I had dinner with Moses, it would likely be in a tent in the dry hot dessert. Dinner with Paul, on the other hand, might be by the sea, and might consist of bread, olives, and other really good stuff. But most of all, I would LOVE to hear Paul preach. Talk about a man on fire for God. He had such a radical awesome change, and such courage. At first, he was sold out to getting rid of all things Jesus. Then, when he MET Jesus, he was sold out for the rest of his life telling others about Jesus!
I’d love to hear some of your answers to these questions in the comments below.
Also, feel free to copy the questions and play this game on your own blog, leave me the link so I can stop by and see your answers.
This is so fun and creative!

Your answer to deny him 3 times was an AH HA moment. That was truth if I have every read it. Thank you, for your honesty.

What a fun way to think through these events! I think I’m with you on all of them except Mary. I’d rather be Mary. Even with all the pain, it would be worth it – worth it to raise Him, to see Him perform miracles, to fully know Him, to see Him after the stone was rolled away..unimaginable.
I enjoyed reading your thoughts and appreciated the opportunity for some creative thinking!
Well, when you think of it that way….. I might have to rethink that one.
Love your intentional faith post! I left a nice comment and don’t see it, and didn’t see a note saying it was waiting for moderation. Hopefully it’s in moderation, but just in case, I wanted you to know that I loved that post!
oh to have been there when He walked on water 😀

Anxious to see your answers Julie!
Interesting post! I think we pretty much have the same answers, except for the one about one hour in heaven vs. one week on earth with Jesus. I would pick being in heaven because there, I can worship Him perfectly and behold Him in all His glory. Even though it would be amazing to be with Him here on earth, I would be frustrated with my own lack of faith. I think about all the times the disciples were rebuked by Jesus for having little faith … that would be me too. You’re right though … I would hate to have to come back to earth after being in heaven.

That one was a hard one for me to, I’d LOVE to spend a week in Heaven, but the coming back, that part made me decide against it. The time we have here on earth is so short compared to the eternity we will get in Heaven. Thanks for stopping by!!
I’ve never thought of these before. I would have to choose the quail and manna, though. I can’t do bugs even with honey! Stopping by from SITS Saturday Sharefest.

I agree, although John the Baptist lived on locusts and honey, they must be pretty healthy. But I’m with you, manna and quail it would be.
During our first visit to Israel, our guide explained the cocoa tree/bean we were looking at is also called the LOCUST tree. It took me a minute or two – but John was eating the fruit of the locust tree – CHOCOLATE!! Chocolate and Honey! The things we don’t know…..!
Now chocolate, I could handle!!

This really got me good.. I absolutely love it and am using this on my jr high ministry ty so much for the fun idea..
I hope your teens enjoyed!
I am prone to agree on the heaven subject BUT if we could spend time with Him in heaven and come back here, it would change everything we do Here for Him while still have time. At last we will get to the true purpose we where placed here for. That one thing that we missed for all our years, thats what we will be devoting our entire lives to from then onwards. And that would be amazing because it will ALL be for Him while it still matters… in heaven it will all be for Him in any case… but now, is when it should change… sorry, my weard way of thinking. I think that is precisely what happenned to Paul, and we all know the result.
So true. Thanks for the thoughts!
im 13 and i run a after school bible study and these games help out a lot, it makes it fun but we are still learning something about the bible.
Thank you so much for commenting. I am proud of you for running your Bible study! I realize this is a late reply, but I hope its still going strong.
Please give us more of these. My grandchildren love them. A great way to bring God into our conversation when we don’t have time for a full Bible study.
Supper with Moses! He saw the LORD in all His glory on the mountaintop.he spent 40 days in His presence! He heard Him speaking as you or I would and the book of Hebrews said he was saved by his faith looking forward to something that lay ahead…definitely supper with Moses!
🙂
What a thought-provoking set of questions/events. I will be using this theme for our VBS. I think the kids will be so jazzed to think through and make a choice. Thanks for sharing.
That is awesome!! Thanks for letting me know!
This is such a wonerful post and I cannot wait to use these in my 8th grade Confirmation class. As a follow-up activity, I am going to have them create their own WOULD YOU RATHER questions for our retreat. I love, Love, LOVE this!!!
I’m so glad you loved it! Please let me know how it went.
1. Walk the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35) or the Way of the Cross (Luke 26-43)
2. Build the tower of babble (Genesis 11) or the walls of Jericho (Joshua 6:20-27)
3. See Samson defeat the Pholistine (Judges 15) or Samson destroy the temple (Judges 16)
4. Wander the dessert for 40 years or be an Egyptian slave (Exodus)
5. See the burning bush (Exodus 3) or listen to God call your name (1 Samuel 3)
6. Have the plague of water turned into blood or the plague of gnats (Exodus 8)
7. Receive the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20) or a glass of wine at the wedding at Canna (John 2)
8. Hear the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 3) or listen as Jesus calms the storm (Matthew 8: 23-27)
I even added the scripture passages so people can look them up if needed. If you would be kind enough to add these into your collection, I would appreciate it.
Thank you so much for these! I will definitely get them added.

It is such a great way to look at all the events in the Bible. I know living on the ark I would be with family and friends, but being in the belly of a big fish, the solidarity, being able to be with God and thinking about what HE wants you to do for Him and to agree, you are released from that whale in at least three days. Well it took Jonah three days to stop running from God.
🙂
We had a sleepover with our Pre-Teens and decieded to use this game. I translated the game in german and added some pictures and Bible verses (eg.how manna taste), then we placed each question in a seperate envelope.
We had really deep talks with the kids, we read the bible verses together and strengh the Bible knowlegde of the Kids.
It was a lot of fun, thank you!
I’m so glad you all enjoyed it! Thank you for letting me know!
Using as an ice breaker for church camp! GREAT idea!!!!
🙂
I thought of these as well. . .
Go on a tour of the Garden of Eden or the ark?
Be Elisha and see the hills full of horses and chariots of fire OR see Elijah taken away in a fiery chariot?
See the raising of Lazarus from the dead or Jesus feed the 5,000?
Be shipwrecked with Paul on Malta or in prison with Paul in Rome?
See David fight Goliath or the walls of Jericho fall?
See Balaam and his talking donkey or Daniel in the lion’s den?
Hear the story of Jesus’s birth from Mary or Joseph?
Thank you for these!! Do you mind if I add them to my post?
Hi Jamie,
This is just what I needed to inspire me! And I hope it will inspire the kids in our teen bible study class! Drop by and play with us.
