Looking back at 2015, and forward to 2016
I am really looking forward to 2016 for some reason. It could be the fact that presidential elections are this year and we can finally put the past 8 years behind us… But, I think what I’m most excited about is starting out a new year as Youth Leader at our little church – (or Youth Minister… Youth Director… whatever you choose to call me, as long as it’s nice).
I’m excited to begin a new year of learning more of God’s Word. I’m ready to memorize more Scripture.
I’m ready to hide more of His Word in my heart.
A lot more.
Looking Back
In 2015, my first child turned 30.
In 2015, my other child turned 16.
In 2015, I became a Youth Leader.
In 2015, my husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary.
—(well, I worked a youth rummage sale that day…).
In 2015, my family had many fun #TWD nights with our best friends.
—(#TWD = The Walking Dead).
In 2015, I went to a lady’s retreat with my besties, and we got to meet News 9’s Robin Marsh.
In 2015, my husband, son and I were a part of 3 revivals and 1 girl’s retreat throughout Oklahoma, and Arkansas.
In 2015, I got to meet TobyMac!!
In 2015, I was a sponsor at 2 youth camps.
In 2015, my mom and stepmom became friends.
In 2015, I almost lost my mom, but God isn’t finished with her yet!
In 2015, 4 children that I shared Jesus with accepted Him!!!!
I became Youth Leader on September 20th of last year (2015). I’ve worked with our youth for the last several years, and was very nervous about becoming the leader, but it became obvious to me that God was in it. And I’m no Jonah (well….. it sounds good saying that anyway). I have enjoyed working with our teens for the last several months of the year, and I’m so excited to see what God has in store for us in 2016!
I have become a “pinning” fool when it comes to pinning youth resources and ideas. I wrote a post entitled “Resources for the Crazy Youth Worker“, and I plan to write several more informative and helpful posts this year.
Looking Forward
In 2016, I am not making a resolution, but I am choosing “One Word”, that word is FOCUS.
In 2016, I will be a sponsor at 2 youth camps again, as the Youth Leader this time.
—(Lord, please help me!!).
In 2016, I am excited to learn more of His Word, to pray more (War Room anyone?), and to memorize Scripture!
In 2016, I hope and pray for peace, health, happiness, and a stronger relationship with God for my entire family, my church family, and my friends.
In 2016, I hope to be open to God and His will and see where He takes me!
For the Blog
I have enjoyed blogging for years, but never really had a “niche”. I realized that what I enjoy talking about most, is anything to do with living the Christian life. So, I found my niche. I purchased my name URL “JamieCody.com” and created a blog named Livin’ Life Loud! I’m excited to see where things go with this blog in 2016.
Things got quite hectic for me the last few months of 2015 and the blog posting suffered. I would say that it didn’t do too awful bad with views though. Mostly views from Pinterest visitors 🙂
Here are my top 2 posts for 2015:
Homemade Butterfinger Ice Cream
This post is still getting pins and I’m so excited about it! Homemade Butterfinger Ice Cream is amazing!
Pastor Appreciation Planning
This post was getting lots of pins when it was on my old blog, so I moved it over and updated it a bit for this blog. I am the secretary at our church, so Pastor Appreciation Day is one of the functions that I organize each year. It’s quite handy to keep a page with all the info and tips that I need each year, and I’m happy to share it with my readers!
Here are My Site in Review Stats for 2015
(Just for fun)…. Site in Review – 2015
Thank you for visiting my blog, and I look forward to sharing with you during 2016!
May God bless you and yours richly this year!
